Our video isn't really an effective PSA. I wouldn't even say that it is considered a PSA. Its more like an informational video about donating books, however we were on different circumstances. I want to create another PSA, but I don't know about what yet. After reading this article though I know that my new PSA needs to be "outside the box" and I feel like it should sort of break barriers and catch people off guard. A PSA isn't something just informational like our video, it should also send a more meaningful message. A good PSA would send a strong message through more than just words, the visuals have to be deep, also. It seems that through the 4-7 rule I shouldn't display my message so obviously. Someone should have to watch it multiple times to get the real meaning of it, meaning that it should be an intense subject that is going to affect people and make them think and actually understand reality.

I am but the volumes are really sketchy... Also one of our group members wants to add a beat but no one wants to put more work into it to do something that's not really necessary. Overall I'm happy with our PSA, i just wish we could have been more creative with our editing.

We are done. We might have to re-edit it though because we want it to be cooler for the PSA presentations. Our creativity worked out really well, with our scenes. Also our personalities shone through the shots and the theme of the PSA because it was humorous. Some obstacles that we are facing with that is that the MTN computers cleared last Sunday.

Blog #3
The most challenging part of my PSA so far was meeting the standards of Ms. Bloom. Scheduling was also pretty difficult. We didn't have a lot of time to do our PSA, and we had to miss a lot of class to get it done. Being in the media center filming at certain times would sometimes be hard because classes would be in there doing work and so it wouldn't be quiet enough for us to film. Finding time to get to MTN to edit was also difficult too since we all had stuff going on afterschool.

Pitch
Our message was to public and community interest, and also the school's interest. Our target audience is members of the South High community and families of South High students. We convinced them to donate money. We tried to make it a bit more humorous to catch peoples attention. However, this caused problems with the teacher we were doing it for because she thought some of it was too crude... It wasn't though she just had her mind in the gutter. I thought that the way we had the video would appeal to the people watching it because they would see how much more work we put into our video than Washburn put into theirs and we let some of our creativity shine through it.
